Designed for focus, not doomscrolling

Remove the feeds that hijack your attention.

DeScroll hides YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels on the web, so your browser becomes a place to watch on purpose — not to lose another hour.

No tracking. Local only. Open-source.
Keeps short‑form feeds out of sight Works on Chrome, Edge, Brave and more

Why DeScroll

Remove the hooks, keep the web.

DeScroll doesn’t block the entire site — only the infinite, swipe‑style feeds built to keep you stuck. You stay in control of what stays visible.

👁‍🗨

Hide the most addictive surfaces

Removes YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels sections from your browser so they stop yelling for your attention every time you open a tab.

🧠

For deep work, not doomscrolling

Keep the tools you need — search, playlists, creators — without the endless feed. DeScroll helps you use platforms intentionally.

🔓

Simple, free, and open‑source

Installation

Install DeScroll in under a minute.

DeScroll works like any unpacked browser extension. Here’s how to add it to Chrome, Edge, Brave, or other Chromium‑based browsers.

  1. 1
Download the latest DeScroll ZIP using the “Download DeScroll” button above.
  2. 2
Unzip the downloaded archive to a folder you can keep on your machine.
  3. 3
In your browser, open chrome://extensions (or the equivalent extensions page).
  4. 4
Turn on Developer mode in the top‑right corner.
  5. 5
Click “Load unpacked” and choose the unzipped DeScroll folder.
  6. 6
Pin the DeScroll icon to your toolbar if you’d like quick access — and enjoy a calmer feed.

Whenever you download a new version of DeScroll, just repeat steps 2 and 5 with the updated folder.

Privacy & Trust

Your attention is the only thing we care about.

DeScroll is built to be boring from a data perspective: no tracking, no analytics, no servers. Just a small script that hides what you don’t want to see.

🔒

No data leaves your browser

DeScroll doesn’t send anything anywhere. It operates purely on the pages you already have open.

👀

No tracking, no analytics

No telemetry, no pixel, no statistics dashboard. We don’t know how you use it — and we’re happy that way.

💻

Open‑source by design

The code is available on GitHub so you can review, fork, or extend it. Trust is earned by making the details visible.
